Window Number Eleven

Today I’ve had one of the most humbling experiences of my life! Growing up in Mesa, and owning a home close to the City of Mesa, we have always been aware of the people that go in each and every month and pay their bills at the last minute, just before their electricity gets shut off. Each of these people/families have a different situation and reason for that. We were able to talk to a couple of the head ladies that work at the City of Mesa that are familiar with their stories and some of these people have just had very unfortunate circumstances and most didn’t have any family support either. That’s where my husband and I stepped in.  These ladies would notify us of multiple individuals who just have had a few hardships, but were genuinely trying hard, and we were able to talk to them, hear their stories, and tell our story of how the Lord brought us to this mission with the His resources and present them with the funds these people needed to keep their electricity on, and some we were even able to help a little more with other utility needs.  We would also present them with a handmade cross and a daily devotional so they have something to leave with and know this was something the Lord had done and we were just using what He provided us with.  Seeing the looks on these people’s faces and the genuine appreciation for what they were receiving, was one of the biggest excitements I have felt in a long time. My eyes were flooded with tears of happiness. There is so much joy in giving and in watching the results of giving.

I always try to remember what’s said in 2 Corinthians 9:6, Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. God will provide us with whatever we need as long as we use His resources to build His Kingdom.

I cannot wait for our next mission and see whose lives will be impacted tremendously all by the active giving that God has asked of each and every one of us.  I can’t wait for others to join us and get to impact other people in our communities lives and be a part of the most rewarding and enlightening missions we have been a part of!
